What I was thinking was to buy a TV card and record onto my DVD writer in my
PC (or hard drive). Is that possible, and if it is what connections and
other things would I need? My ntl receiver has pace on it.

Yes its very possible, you can't however connect the cable line directly
into your TV tuner. What you need is to have a pass thru connection on the
digital box or a scart to s-video converter cable. use this to connect your
NTL box to any TV card and record the video as mpeg video format to your
harddisk. You can then use almost any major cd/dvd burning package to make a
video disc.

Nero's Vision Express works well for this.
