Are people able to get BBC interactive most of the time? I've never used it
before but just started using it yesterday because I'm interested in
watching Wimbledon and betting on a lot of the matches. Unfortunately about
80% of the time I just get an error message coming up. Is this normal? Are
NTL obliged to provide a service which works more than 20% of the time?? If
so is there a tel number and/or email address to which I can contact them to
lodge a complaint?

We've just got it working. In all fairness to NTL, last year it was the
BBC's fault that it wasn't up and running for the first couple of days
of Wimbledon.

We find that it won't work if the box has been on standby (e.g.
overnight), but a hard reset does the trick. Not ideal, but not too bad
if it means having a choice of either watching the jug-eared twit or
some decent matches. ;)

Don't bother putting it on Standby. All it stops is the outputs. And the
numbers on the display. Negligble saving in power.

Heh, it's a habit I'll probably never break; I switch off everything
before we go to bed.

Hmmm . .it's working at the moment. How do you do a hard reset? When I
pull the power cable out of the back I can sometimes get bbci afterwards
(but sometimes not). Actually I need to do this sometimes because sometimes
the TV channel sticks so that I cannot change the channel eg bbc1 to bbc2,
until I pull the power cable out, put it back in, and it resets itself.

Until 5 mins later when I try watching another match that is. This is
hopeless. Who do I complain to? Is it ntl or the bbc?

A hard reset is switching off the power to the box for 30 seconds or
more, then switching it back on.

As for who to complain to, I would imagine it's NTL because the feed is
definitely live - we don't have any problems here in Northants (apart
from having to hard reset every day).

The only way I found out it was the BBC's fault last year is because
that's what the NTL bods told me after I complained and they ran some
tests. Of course, they may have been wrong. :)

Same thing happened to me this evening. Pressed red button and waited a
few minutes for "just waiting" to go but when it finally went I was
still on BBC2 and couldn't change channels. Pressed the "tv" button and
could the change channels OK.

Like a fool, I tried again on BBC1 a few minutes later. Got the menu
this time so selected the tennis. Got sent back to BBC1 news but lost
all sound. Had to reboot to get that back. Isn't NTL wonderful?

Better than I get, all I ever get on any channel when I try to go to interactive
is:
"There is no enhanced service available for this program"
